The Ronkey Donkey Fan Site
Aloha!
Welcome to the unofficial Ronkey Donkey site. As a big fan of Ronkey Donkey I was surprised to discover that there is virutally no web presence of the band, and so decided to knock together this little celebration of one of the UK's greatest unknown pop combos.
Look... a picture of a donkey!
Anyway, as I was saying, I've been a fan of the band since the first demo, Stooders, was released in 1990. What a work of art! It featured a fantastic dayglo orange cover complete with an interesting photo story and inside was a lovely photo gallery of people the band like(d).
And of course the sweet ronkey goodness didn't end there. Christ, no. Several classic albums were to follow, along with several not-so-classic albums, but of the former I definitely recommend El Stooders, forty-two minutes of industrial doom-mash jazzcore, featuring the original German vocalist Ludvig Brandt, as entry level listening.
Other essential albums include I'm Not Drunk, I've Been Harpooned (a concept album based on a true story), Circuitry Awareness Week (an audiotastic tour of a PC's components), Ronkus Donkus (thirty-seven seismic experiments in sonic gladness), and Three Shades of Beef (a hard-hitting indictment of the global meat industry, in particular the topic of beef genetics).
So fetch yourself a refreshing glass of Source (it's Morrisons' own version of Red Bull - try it!), kick off your shoes and settle back for some of the best sonic entertainment you're ikely to hear this week, if not fortnight. Savour!

These tracks were ripped from the original CDs, though I do seem to recall that they've been released under the Creative Commons license, so are free and legal to download. But don't let that fool you. Album sales may have been poor in the UK but Ronkey Donkey are massive in Slovenia and, to a slightly lesser extent, Luxembourg.
Sweet donkey goodness!
